Don't Bother with the Enterprise Edition of Microsoft Edge Chromium

If you're considering installing the Enterprise version of Microsoft Edge Chromium, think twice before doing so. The truth is that most users don't need the Enterprise edition, and it can actually cause more problems than benefits.

I recently tested the Enterprise installer on Windows 10 Pro, and I was surprised to find that it's not necessary for normal use. In fact, the installation process might not even update normally after the initial installation if you're running Windows 10 Home or Pro rather than Windows 10 Enterprise.

So, why would you want to install the Enterprise version of Microsoft Edge Chromium? The main difference between the Enterprise installer (MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi) and the Microsoft Edge Insider installer (MicrosoftEdgeSetupBeta.exe) is that the Enterprise installer embeds Version 79.0.309.56 into Windows 10, replacing EdgeClassic, while the Microsoft Edge Insider installer does not.

However, this difference is mainly of interest to IT professionals or developers who need a specific version of Edge Chromium for testing or deployment purposes. For normal users, there's no reason to use the Enterprise installer rather than the Microsoft Edge Insider installer, as both download installers for identical Edge Chromium versions (Version 79.0.309.56).
